MEISSEN KERAMIK ENDLESS PERFECTION
The history of MEISSEN KERAMIK began in 1855 in Saxony – the cradle of the German ceramics industry. It is right here, nearby Dresden and the mining district of Seilitz-Lóthainer, in Meissen, that Gottfried Heinrich Melzer developed and patented the heat resistant tile – the famous “patented Meissen tile”. His innovative idea inspired Carl Teichert, a Meissen-based master potter to design tiled stoves. Thus, in 1863, on the New Market Square in Meissen, the first Carl Teichert Stove and Chamotte Factory was opened.
